thought for today

Prayer holds together the shattered fragments of the creation. It makes history possible.

Prayer
by
George Herbert
1593-1633

Prayer, the Church's banquet, Angels' age,
God's breath in man returning to his birth,
The soul in paraphrase, heart in pilgrimage,
The Christian plummet sounding heav'n and earth;
Engine against th' Almighty, sinner's tower,
Reversed thunder, Christ-side-piercing spear,
The six-days'-world transposing in an hour,
A kind of tune, which all things hear and fear;
Softness, and peace, and joy, and love, and bliss,
Exalted manna, gladness of the best,
Heaven in ordinary, man well dressed,
The milky way, the bird of Paradise,
Church bells beyond the stars heard, the soul's blood,
The land of spices, something understood.

hmmmmmm i gave MUCH thought to that, it DOES reads nice. but in reality it comes off as nothing more than self indulgent romantic twaddle." ..prayer HOLDS together shattered fragments etc??. .huh????
"shattered fragments of creation have NOTHING to do with the physical creation , and most certainly NOT prayer, which evolved out of the expansion of the thinking principle to confirm ones existence in a non existent world. its simply the expansion of the finite universe without ego producing activity. .
The only thing that makes history possible is the reflective destructive folly of mankind, to remind itself it does indeed exist.
Prayer is FAITH, internal, and personal, it has nothing to do with “ shattered fragments" of anything. In the omnipresence of the creator there is no duality it is simply THAT which is, there are NO fragments of anything . that would be contradictory to the indivisible supreme consciousness called god.
