Once again a wonderful Prayer of Confession and Words of Assurance from the service this morning at Seward United Methodist Memorial Church.
Let us pray together:
God, we are broken people and we always have been. Despite individual celebrations of triumph and accomplishment, despite science and technology that would leave our ancestors in amazement, despite knowledge that expands faster than anyone can master, despite all the wonders of our civilized world, we remain broken people. We are broken by warfare and violence, we are broken by disease and infirmity, we are broken by grief and despair, we are broken by prejudice and hatred and fear, we are broken by selfishness and greed, and we are broken by sin...
O God, source of life and love, and hope for our healing, hear now, as we pray in silence, the confession of our personal brokenness.
Merciful and forgiving God, you promise us healing in our broken places, and so we come before you today as ones who are sick come to a physician.
Heal us and breathe into us once more the breath of God. Amen.

Oh my- that is beautiful. I need to print this and read it daily. It will be something I will use during Lent.
Thank you Robert.
Thanks Fran. It struck me in a powerful way.
