Emma's First Birthday

Today is Emma's first birthday. I still miss her terribly and it seems like every time I see a baby I'm reminded of her beautiful smile and spirit. She was a joy and a true blessing from God. I'm always grateful that he blessed my life, even for such a short time.

Please join me in prayers that she may continue to be nurtured in her new home and that she continues to be healthy.

Aw...Robert (BIG squeezy hug.)

I know you still have a big hole in your heart there. Someday, someone (or more than one someones) will strengthen that hole. You will always know there was a hole there, but the repair will make it not feel so big.

But this was not a "sutured wound" that heals by "first intention." This was an open gaping wound and it takes a lot longer for the granulation tissue to fill the edges of it and fill it in! And it will leave a scar, as wounds of "second intention" do. Only time fills in the gaps and lightens the scar.

"The pathology of wound healing" is pretty important when we are talking about our spiritual hearts, too!

Thanks Kirk. You are right. It is a hard day for me today.
