Prop 8 passes in California

My joy at the election of Barak Obama as our next president is mixed with sadness at the realization that fear and hate and prejudice has prevailed in California. It is sad to think that the rights of gay people are so threatening to others.

Apparently there are a lot of uncounted provisional votes - it could make a difference.

Nonetheless - how sad that it is even so close. My heart breaks.
