Oh no! It is here!

Well after the summer that was not here in Seward Alaska, I'm sad to report that the winter is here. I work up and let the dogs out this morning to the sight of the first snow falling at my house. I knew it was coming, the termination dust was present on the little hill behind my house.

Nevertheless, hope continued to spring eternal in my heart, wishing fervently that if we had a summer that never was, perhaps we could have a winter than ever was as well and just muddle along with an extended fall.

Alas, it was not to be!

Hey, every time I think about my friends teasing me about Kirksville, MO being the "Arctic wasteland of Missouri" I think of you, Robert! I know you have it way worse than I do!

Thanks Kirk. Actually since I live right on the water it is not as bad as other places in Alaska. But I still like to complain once in a while! :)

Don't let the dogs out! Someone really stupid might mistake them for moose and shoot them.

Can you see Russia from your house?

Betcha can!

All I will say about seeing Russia from my house is that I am able to see it as much as Sarah can!
