Thought for today

Another great quote from the Ven. Wuling. I never imagined that in posting things here I would have the opportunity to make contact with so many wonderful people. You can check out her web site here.

when others hurt us,
we usually react with
anger,
resentment,
and may even wish for retaliation.

but these actions will only prolong our pain,
for to hold resentment in our hearts
only serves to make us feel worse.

Ven. Shi Wuling, an American Buddhist nun

That is so beautiful- thank you for posting and for providing her website.

It is so true - isn't it?

And a reminder of the heart as GAFCON roils along in Jerusalem and Lambeth awaits.

I know I am the resident RC hanger on here in Episcopalian blog land, but it makes my heart hurt.

We are all One, no?

Well I guess that depends on who you ask!!

Thanks Fran. I loved that post as a reminder to try and understand those who have come from a different theological perspective than I when I feel hurt by them and more importantly to remind myself to guard my initial desires to respond in ways that do not reflect Jesus.
